the little things you hear

OK, so I'm trying to get a lot done these days but I also never seem to get anything done.

Today after I finished eating lunch in the cafeteria, I approached the elevators where a couple other people were already waiting. Two men were talking and as I slowed I heard a bit of banter and then one said, "I am actually speaking in this General Conference." GA Alert! GA Alert! In my ever so sly way, I peek over at him and simply overhear him modestly say, "Well, we are just filler speakers for the apostles....still, it is a little nerve racking." Uh, no kidding! So I absolutely didn't recognize this guy and I didn't think it was quite my place to ask for his name or to even inquire about which session he'd be speaking in. So I attempted to commit to memory who this man was and what he looked like. After rushing back to my quaint cubicle in the southwest corner of the 24th floor, I scoured over my very outdated chart of the leadership of the Church. So I admit, my memory's not that great and no one absolutely stuck out at me. I was assuming he was in the First Quorum, but no worries I check the Second Quorum as well... I'm not entirely positive but for my guess of who he was, I am putting... Elder Keith Hilbig. So keep your eyes open and look for an amazing General Conference address...we'll see if I'm right.

I am currently designing a professional portfolio web site for my hopefully starting soon, search for jobs. I'm really excited cuz I love doing this kind of thing but worry that it may just be my way of putting off actually applying. I am using iWeb which is really user and design friendly, and automatically creates all the html and such. I am still looking into ways I can post it online...like free sources that allow you to have your own site...um, for free! Right now I'm kinda going forward with the plan to sign up for a free 60-day trial of iMac, which offers a free site and automatically uploads what I do in iWeb. No worries, I will let you all know when my site is up and running.

Side note: On my home page, I currently have a picture of myself and I'm wondering if this is a bad idea. I just needed something there for the design and it was the first thing that popped into my head. I don't actually have very many professional ish pictures so it's actually my current facebook photo but I can change that. I'm wondering if it's a bad idea because employers might dislike it, pre-judge/eliminate me, think I'm too young, etc. etc. Let me know what you think.
