elections-student style

Election week is here. But the day before we get the real results, students across the nation are going to the polls, or more accurately their computer labs, to cast a vote in a student election for the next president of the United States.

This election is taking part through the company I work for, Studies Weekly (under American Legacy Publishing) and is the largest student election of any sort to ever take place. Millions of students across the country will be participating. (The goal is 4 million) And yes, Guinness may be getting involved. With that said, it may be interesting to visit this site sometime today to see how things are turning out. While the numbers won't be significant to really show accurate stats, these students are highly likely to vote for the same candidate their parents are supporting.

Studies Weekly Election Results

P.S. Purple means the state is tied, gray means no one in that state has voted yet.

**UPDATE**P.P.S. Well it looks like there were some errors in the voting yesterday. Only 800,000 votes were recorded but based on page views apparently we should have counted about 6 million. That is more in line with the company expectations so they are continuing to allow the students to vote today--the real election day.
