Christy and I carried on our family tradition this year by embarking on the adventure of making sputnuts....all by ourselves.
I don't think either of us had ever made the dough before....or even watched the dough be made. So that was definitely an experience as neither of us had any idea what we were doing as we mashed potatoes, mixed in flour and hoped it worked out.
We had lots of fun and got a little inventive in making it work. The best part was using a piece of a lamp (we think) that we found in a drawer to make the center hole. Oh, and picking out chunks of potato from the dough...we didn't anticipate that.
But the outcome was fantastic! Check out Christy's blog post for pictures. Part 1 and Part 2
P.S. my sisters and I also have a tradition of linking to each other's blogs for stories that concern us all....Ruthie tends to do it best as the usual (self-acclaimed) last one to post by sending readers on a three-way link.
