I NEED SLEEP!

I can't sleep because my roommate is moving out...at 2 a.m....and making a ton of noise. Agh! Today was busy, but I'm on a choreography kick and busted out 3.5 routines in the limited free time I had (gotta love multitasking while driving!) AND I finally got the lastest choreography dvd for Toning since it was stuck at my old apartment. So we'll see if there's any good stuff. And I'm rambling because I know I can't sleep...aaahhhh.

**UPDATE OMG, THEY JUST CAME INTO MY BASEMENT TO GET THE STUFF DOWN HERE...LIGHTS ON, LOUD TALKING...DO THEY NOT THINK IM IN MY BEDROOM??? IT'S 2 A.M.!!!!!!!

***NEWER UPDATE..THEY APPARENTLY DID NOT THINK I WAS HERE. (PROBABLY BECAUSE I GOT HOME LATE AND PARKED MY CAR IN THE BACK SINCE THE MOVING TRUCK WAS OUT FRONT) ANYWAYS, MY DOOR OPENED A BIT WHEN THEY WERE MOVING THE COUCH AND I HEARD SOMEONE WHISPER, "OH, SHE'S HERE" THEN SOMEONE QUIETLY SHUT MY DOOR.

IT'S NOW QUIETER AND I'M GONNA TRY FOR THE SLEEPING THING AGAIN.

And back to my ramblings as I was putting off trying to sleep among noise:

I also just realized I don't teach Zumba again until next Wednesday. (Because of Labor Day!) That's almost a week!

Crazy. I'll definitely bring new stuff then.

Look forward to routines to the following:

Yin Yang Twins, "First Pump, Jump Jump"

Allstar Weekend, "Wanna Dance with Somebody"

Bruno Mars, "Marry You"

and the half routine goes to Pitbull's Echa Pa'lla. (I didn't feel like find a video. It's a new song and it's 2 a.m. afterall)

Education Week: Part 1

I am EXHAUSTED right now. But I've been putting off posting about Education Week and want to at least get started on that.

That might be part of the reason why I'm so exhausted—I'm posting instead of sleeping. And my schedule tomorrow just might include 3 Zumba classes. (Only teaching 1 though.) And Saturday is an all-day Zumba and fitness event called "You Should Be Dancing Utah."AHHH!  My body is tired already.

Now to the purpose of the post:

I love Education Week. I love being back in a classroom setting. I love learning from amazing instructors. I love being inspired to be a better person. I love finding direction and insight for my life.

It's all fantastic.

Below is a look at some of the classes I attended. People keep asking about my favorite instructors and classes and I had such a hard time trying to answer that. Seriously every class I attended was great. But I've narrowed my selection to three favorite instructors:

  • John Hilton III (taught class on scripture study, he's youngish, goofy, and funny and I remember taking a class from him when I attended as a youth)
  • Scott Marsh (taught about finances & acquiring wealth and how it ties in with the gospel; he's a BYU professor in the business school, funny and very interesting)
  • Benjamin Knowlton (he taught a class about getting more from General Conference and what we can learn from the lives of General Authories; he's super funny, balding, wears dark framed glasses and even though I only attended his class one day, I signed up to take a class from him at the Orem Institute.)
I'll share more info from the classes next time! And again, here's a sampling of classes I took. See any themes? I just might have focused on goals, finances, scripture study, and managing stress. (I wonder why? :P)

Why don't you buy the whole song?

The following clip is from The Office when Michael Scott listens to the audio preview of the song "Goodbye My Lover" on repeat after a breakup.

That is exactly how I feel as I listen to the iTunes preview of Safetysuit's EP released today. On repeat. It is only available on iTunes and most of you know I pretty much avoid buying things on iTunes if at all possible.

I just might break down.

I got to the clip of "Anywhere But Here" (my favorite song of theirs) and that almost confirmed it.

From the clip: Dwight: Why don't you just buy the whole song? Michael: I don't need to buy it. I just want to taste it.

up-up-up-update (little)

No worries, a slew of Education Week posts will be coming shortly. Can I just tell you that last week was AMAZING? I loved, loved, loved it. Work was great. Education Week was great.

Sigh, yes, Education Week was so great.

I also auditioned to sub at a new Zumba place (and got it), set up a big private Zumba class for a boarding school (requested by someone who comes to my classes), and made a little progress on the whole unpacking thing.

Please note the emphasis on little there. It's probably really sad that I've basically lived there 3 weeks and am still not done. But to my defense the landlord has several items of furniture in my living area that she is moving out next week. We arranged it so I could move in but I've had to work around those things. Sooo, there are a few items that I CAN'T really unpack yet because the area where I want to put them is blocked by a big couch. My other defense is that I've had to be living my life during this whole process. Meaning, I haven't had a chunk of time to just unpack. I get a little done and then have to leave and do other things. The next day I need something and have to open up random boxes trying to find it. This creates a mess. Which I clean up later. And then have to leave so I can do other things. And the cycle continues. I also decided I didn't like my dresser so I left it behind and am currently looking for another. So my clothes are semi-neatly stacked on a table in my room. Lovely, eh?

Anyways, I just wanted to post. More to come soon.

Education Week begins

I have one class down and am sitting in my second class waiting for it to begin. So far, so good.

Part of why I wanted to post right now is because I've had multiple people ask me over the past couple days who I am going to Education Week with. I just say I'm going by myself. Why I thought this kinda funny (despite the "oh, ok" kind of looks I receive) is that it never crossed my mind even once that most people might want to attend with other people.

Granted I'm definitely an independent type that does things by myself quite often. But usually I at least have an understanding that something might be uncomfortable for others. (For example, going to movies, country dancing, or eating out...)

Yes, my sister WAS going to attend one day with me, but I don't think we would have taken the exact same classes anyways. (I'm only attending 2.5 days and maybe some evenings if I can fit it in.)

Class is starting, so I'm off!

Have you read Divergent?

I'm almost halfway through the Divergent by Veronica Roth. I've been on the waiting list at the library for a while and my turn finally came up this week. (I honestly don't even remember when I requested it.)

But I have a feeling I'm going to be anxious for book No. 2 soon. I'm currently the 72nd person in line...so if anyone has a copy of Insurgent I can borrow. Let me know!

Have you read the series? What do you think?

For those who haven't heard of the book, people have related it to the Hunger Games. Everything is still unfolding for me, but essentially the world is made up of 5 factions, each with different characteristics. When people turn 16 they take an aptitude test which determines which faction they are most suited for. Depending on the results, they may never see their families again and leave the worlds they've always known to become a part of society in a different faction. Obviously there are few conflicts within the society and that's kinda where I am in the story right now.

Summit has purchased the rights to the story and a screen play is currently in the works. The original 2015 release date has been fast tracked so we'll see.
