The following is an email from the VP of the company I work for:

Subject: A strange, yet intriguing opportunity

On next Tuesday, the destruction of the old Xerox printer will take place. The verdict reached was that the printer was guilty of dereliction of duty, the penalty for this crime is death by firing squad. You are hereby summoned to participate as a member of said firing squad. Some weapons will be provided, but if you would like to supply your own 12 gauge shotgun, ammo will be provided. We would request that you leave your weapon in your car when you come to work. Thank you for your willingness to fulfill your civic duty.

I thought that was all, but no, it goes on with a response from the president of the company:

This will be a formal firing squad ceremony. The proceedings will be video taped for documentation purposes and posted on YouTube. Please write a fitting execution summary and the defendant's crimes and the justification for the high penalty.

This summary will be read aloud before the condemned is executed.

Summary of Charges:

• The printer was purchased for $7000 in February 2004
• It had a 24 month warranty
• In March of 2006 the Xerox representative said that it would cost more to fix than to replace
• We spend $26500 on toner during that time
• Although it printed high quality images most of the time it was generally cheeky to work with
• It has been awaited execution on death row now for nearly three years and the time has come
